I was at the IASC Hall of Fame Awards last night and it was an amazing presence of skateboarders spanning like 50 years. Before the show started, we were wondering who this crazy Crocodile Dundee looking character is. Turns out he’s a 70 year old skateboarder who was getting an award tonight. Thanks IASC for letting us in on your awards shindig. I ripped some raw footage out of HiDefJoe’s camera and put together a few minutes from the show.
The Digi Floral Janoskis are finally here. Foot Fetish is working slightly different on these. The pre-release and general release are on the SAME DAY, however, the pre-release is an hour before we officially open at noon in SPoT Ybor tomorrow (Wednesday, May 1st). So, if you get allocated a voucher, you will be able to get your shoes without having to wait in line starting at 11am on May 1 in Ybor. You will have until noon to redeem your voucher. At noon, we open up and all shoes are available for general release. If you get a Foot Fetish Voucher, get your ass to Ybor before noon and you’re good. Thanks and if there’s a line, we’ll be out there with coffee, donuts, and Red Bull for ya’ll as usual. See you in Ybor. Vouchers will be sent out at 10pm tonight (Tuesday, April 30). Get in digital line here: http://skateparkoftampa.com/footfetish
This episode of SPoT Life recaps the ripping skateboarding that went down on Sunday at Damn Am Atlanta for the Finals. Thanks for checking out another one.
Here’s how Yoshi just won Damn Am Atlanta. Yoshi capped off the last Jam with a back tail 360 flip on the quarter that was popped like it was on flat ground. Right now he’s on his way back to Maryland to get to school tomorrow. In 2nd was John Hill who we met at Manny Mania in Charlotte years ago. Kevin Braun skated his first Damn Am this weekend and got 1st in the Semi-Finals and 3rd in the Finals. Nollie flip noseslides on the rail and nollie heel crooked grinds in your run will make a splash like that. We first met Kevin back in 2009 when we froze our asses off in Chicago. It was nice meeting new friends and old ones all weekend long at another amazing Damn Am stop. Thank you all for skating, watching, high fiving, and being damn awesome. See you at the next one.
SPoT Life from Damn Am Atlanta on Saturday is the Qualifiers and Red Bull Best Trick. 141 of the most ripping Ams from everywhere are here.
Last night we stopped by Da Playground in Atlanta where Markus Jalaber and the rest of the SPoT team ripped, tore, shredded, stabbed, punched, kicked, smashed, and all that skateboard-wise. Damn, what a good time. Thanks Kayo for having us and allowing us to shoot photos and film. An edit and more is coming, but for now, toast on this backside flip nosegrind.
SPoT Life from Damn Am Atlanta yesterday.
We have two vans and 13 dudes on a road trip to Atlanta’s Damn Am presented by DVS. We stopped by Gainesville and ran into Billy Rohan, backing camo since day one. He’s about to shuv it out of that switch nose manny. We’re flying up I75 now…
SPoT Local Aaron Davis is up next on 10/Two. He was once banned for sneaking into Skatepark of Tampa. Take his two cents.
In 1993, Brian Schaefer started Skatepark of Tampa. 20 years later, he’s going on a tour of all the facilities for you.
Everything is $1 at Skatepark of Tampa. We are now skateboarding’s first dollar store! AlBow AKA MP3J breaks it down for you and fills a cart faster than you because, well, everything’s a damn dollar!
